Apr 2, 2016 @ 1:26pm. I've tried both over three different playthroughs and I strongly prefer the mushroom cave. The bats are honestly really damn lazy about leaving fruit, with the mushrooms you always get 6 every other day. Mushrooms are consistently useful for cooking and crafting, while fruit is pretty hit or miss. If you accept, you must decide whether to use your cave as a home for some fruit-providing bats or as a garden for some mushrooms.
